Had a quick search around but most of the suggestion posts are 4-5 years old.
We're a group of 10 heading out to Courchevel next week (got a good deal on a catered chalet inbetween 1850 & 1550). If anyone has any suggestions for "reasonable" locations for a beer/lunch/apres, would love to hear them (appreciate that reasonable in Courchevel is realative), we're likely to spend most afternoons back at the Chalet but suggestions for a sports bar, spot for a decent steak etc would be much appreciated.
Cheers

We really like the atmosphere in Le Schuss - usually has whatever live sport is on showing on multiple TVs (on mute usually) and has a reasonable range of beers.
But it’s in Moriond/1650 so perhaps not ideally located for you.

Having recently been to 3V we tried and failed (due to it being popular) to get into cap horn - near to the airport! Looked like a nice spot for lunch!

Well that saved you getting a second mortgage. Only Russian oligarchs would associate the Cap Horn with "reasonable"!
Bottle of Margaux to wash down your Wagyu steak? I recommend the 1990, sir. That'll be €44,880 please...

I'm fond of Bel Air, but haven't been for ages. It was never cheap, but the food was very good and I doubt that more than one mortgage would be required.

It gets busy because it's accessible to pedestrians as well as skiers.

Would help if you clarified that location. Are you in the lower part of 1850 which means you've got to walk up to the centre or the upper part of 1550 whereby you can walk down and use the Grangettes gondola (which is a pedestrian lift at night)?
The short answer is that there is only really one pub-like bar in 1850 - the Gatekeeper, and one in 1550 - Le Caterail. In both cases, there's more going on in 1650/Moriond which is 5-10 mins on the bus from either. Le Pelican, Le Schuss, The Funky Fox are always popular but there are others. Apres on the hill is expensive, Hotel Courcheneige is (I think) still one of the better value places and very conveniently located for a ski home.
The usual recommended lunch spots would be:
The Bel Air (you'll need to book) as above in 1650
Copina Tapas Bar 1650 (if you like tapas)
Bouc Blanc above La Tania (good enough for Wills & Kate)
Pub le Ski Lodge in La Tania (famous for its burgers)
Bistrot Machet in La Tania (French gastronomique)
La Cave des Creux on the piste of the same name in 1850 (probably need to book)
Le Rond Point above Meribel (an institution)
Folie Douce Meribel (if that's your thing)
There are more good value ones further afield, particularly in St Martin & Les Menuires.
For lunchtime steak, La Cave des Creux or the Bel Air are probably the best bet.

Le Bouc Blanc mentioned above does epic omelettes. And Le Corbeleys above St Martin has delicious, not over-expensive food.

Don't know that place. Must be new? Says it's on Prameruel and I haven't been down there in forever. Prices look reasonable by 1850 standards - did you eat there?
But to put 1850 in context, they've got a 4cl shot of Genepi at €6. At La Loy above St Martin (a very good value restaurant), I still get offered a Genepi shot for free after every meal. Sadly, that is the only sensibly priced place left (that I know of) that still gives out free shots, I used to know many places 20 years ago.

Forgot to mention La Luge in the forum in 1850. Bizarre concept of a ski & board shop with a very highly rated burger restaurant and fairly priced specialist beer and rum bar on the side.
Go for lunch and stay all night - the apres DJ plays till 2am.

Pub le ski lodge in La Tania is great for cheaper food and drinks and have good apres options several nights a week. It’s 2 lifts back into courchevel from there or there’s a free bus back to all levels of courchevel which runs late if you miss the lifts.

Bouc blanc already mentioned for lunch is probably one of the better value places, portions are very good Soup with cheese or omelette will fill you up (there must be at least 5 eggs if not more in it).
Everywhere is "expensive", some places more than others, for a cheaper option, the forum shops in c1850 across the road from the lifts has some cheaper eats and sandwiches, you can ski under the bridge and park skis there and get inside (door is very stiff!)
We try to take sandwiches/snacks with us at lunch time, there's a nice inside room in the building with the Saulire lift with seats/tables, there is a couple of vending machines for drinks but never used them - I think I saw a microwave too but can't be certain, there is a counter that serves drinks/food etc just as you are going into that building for something warmer.
There's a crepe place under the courchneige (bellecote green piste) that's "reasonable" value for stop too, with added bonus of single toilet just inside the building (without steps!) and there's the snack bar next to the bottom of the pralong lift.
Apres, we usually stay in La Tania, so ski lodge would be our usual stop - as mentioned earlier there is a free bus service around villages, to get back to c1850, it's bus to la praz then la praz lift to c1850 that runs as pedestrian service outside of normal skiing hours, I believe the lift back to c1550 from c1850 also runs similar. Other than that it's waiting for buses - highly recommend getting a photo of the timetable on phone.
