Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi All,

Somethings have changed and hopefully can make it out to Alta Badia for half-term. Which I prefer to the Spanish option.

Currently the tourist service say the following have space. Anyone stayed at any of these and offer an opinion please?

Garni + app Bonaria 2*
Guesthouse Borest 2*
Garni Ciampai 2*
Residence Ciasa Fustu 2*
Garni Cinzia 2*
Garni Villa Linda 2*
Residence Villa Pinter 2*
App and B&B La Utia 2*
App Carla 2*
App Fontanels 2*
Residence Riposo 3*
Hotel Maria 3*
Garni plus app Bracun 3*
Garni Ciasa Roch 2*
App and b&b Fraina 3*
B and b Granada 3*
Hotel Italia 3* - unsure about this as they give a price for 2 people although there are 4 of us.

Ideally want something that’s no further than BB Arabba hotel to Arabba slopes for a walk - though will have a car. Just want to avoid something infested with bugs and cold water only.

I doubt you'll find anything bug infested in Corvara.

I also doubt anyone will have stayed in all of those recently enough to be able to give you a considered comparison.

You can check out reviews on Trip Advisor and locations on Google maps.

This might be helpful to visualise where the lifts and runs are in Corvara, clustered around the old centre at the southern end of the village...

There is a fair bit of accommodation at the northern end of Corvara that isn't walking distance to lifts, particularly on the hillside on the far side of the river, Garni Bracun in your list is in that area.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I guess you can be unlucky anywhere and a couple of years ago there were a few reports of norovirus on snowHead in Corvara . 3 out of four of our party got it. Didn't stop us booking again fro the following year and this year.

Must be a nightmare for hotels - bugs can be brought in by any visitor, especially those who indulge in the supremely unpleasant habit of putting bags on beds! My sister and brother in law encountered them in an expensive "boutique" hotel in the Scillies. Spent the night on sofas in reception, after an hour or two of itching and scratching.

We've stayed in Garni Bracun few years ago which was very clean & good.
We stayed at Hotel Italia 2 years ago & it was good, clean & a really nice swimming pool. Would stay at either of them again. Hotel Italia is less of a walk to the lifts & you can ski back to the carpark opposite & just take your skis off & walk across the road.
