Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Best way to book trains Zurich to Grindelwald?

 Poster: A snowHead

Hi All,
I usually book all my travel through swisspasses.com but I wondered if anyone had a recommendation on the cheapest way to book train transfers for a family of 4 from Zurich to Grindelwald in Feb. I am sure last year we got half fare cards and family cards etc... but seems like just booking single day pass tickets through the sbb website is cheapest. Am I missing something?

Many thanks!!

@Ryanbakewell52,

Have a look at Saver Day passes:

 Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

If you're looking to catch the train the same day as a flight arriving in Zurich, then Saver Day Pass will indeed be your best bet.

I tend to book those for my arrival day (assuming my train journey is over 2 hours, which is usually roughly where the cost of those is less than a Point-to-point ticket) and then Supersaver Tickets for the return leg (where I am tied to a specific time train).

In both instances, just be careful to ensure you are paying "full fare" and not the "half-fare travelcard" price which the website and app usually default to (unless you're logged into an account and have already changed this).

 Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

It might also be worth checking out the relevant Snow'n'Rail offer.

This hasn't proven to be cheaper for me for any of my trips, but might be for you.

Thanks @GuyrillaMonsoon, I did indeed book with Snow'n'Rail in the end and it worked out good for us. Very pleased with that. Very Happy Cool
