 Poster: A snowHead

Hi,
I'm looking to book on the 27th to go on the 28th.
Is there a secret website where you can pick up genuine last minute package deals (flight/transfer/accommodation), you know, they want to sell it at any price to avoid empty seats/beds.
I want to take the twins, but funds are low.
Thanks

Igluski or lastminute.com
At this notice, for a super peak week, with amazing snow conditions, I think you should temper your expectations.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

nothing for xmas, but tons of early Jan deals - even on crystal. I posted elsewhere that 2 weeks ago there were sub £400 Halfboard deals in the alps.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

If you have transport or can sort it separately (check Skyscanner website for flights) and don’t mind cheap & cheerful, then Sunweb had some cheap late deals a couple of days ago that include a lift pass… best bet might be early Jan though, as others have said.
I’m in the never done it, not sure I’m brave enough

I've done last minute a lot in the past, but never on a peak week and New Year is the peak of all peaks. Always pre-Xmas, early-mid Jan or mid-March.
Not so many Brit TO run chalets around now though, they had to be filled. Not so much hotel deals, as the TOs prolly only have an option on those.
Deals used to appear on a Tuesday for weekend departures normally, but this is a funny week where people are off work with the Bank Holidays, so no clue how it will pan out.
Teletext used to be the place to find them, but online agents like Iglu seem to list them now. Best to work out which TO has the deal and book direct with them though, maybe with a code or cashback
If you get something half its original price, you're well. Any less than that and it's a bargain.
Good luck!!

1. I'm assuming the twins aren't adults.
2. Igluski prices to anywhere skiable from anywhere in the UK are rather eye watering This is the cheapest Iglu offer per person for one adult and two children

I dont think cheap exists during peak season / school holiday. Lots of options from the 4th

It's strange that it's not cheap at new year any more.
I got Arinsal new year's eve last year, Passo tonalle new years eve the previous year, and Bulgaria new years eve the year before (£1700 for three hb, pass, equipment, and lessons! At least double for the same this year).
Zilch this year.

@marodo2712, new year timing is very different this year, vs U.K. school holidays, because of the day of the week that it falls on. Last year it wasn’t a full holiday week for many schools, this year it is.
In addition, snow conditions this year are vastly better, so the handful of options available, whether flights or accommodation, are that much more likely to have been snapped up. There’s dozens of apartments for rent in my block, but every single one of booked next week, which is very unusual.
I suspect your best option will be to drive, and book something independently from Airbnb or booking.com.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Because Europe’s had all these recent snow with cold to match? So lots of punters snapping up holidays or accommodation.
Whereas mild weather and rain kicked in just before Xmas 22 and 23, deterring late bookers.
