Snow Reports

Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

My car has a speed limiter. It updates with the speed limit where you are driving. Just use it and you don't get done for speeding.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

My friend was stopped by the Carabinieri (spelling?) in the Aosta valley while driving his Ferrari on a road trip.
He asked why he was stopped as he was 100pct sure he was under the limit.
The policeman replied that he was stopped for driving too slowly in a Ferrari...and explained it is the civic duty of a Ferrari driver to go fast!
He asked where he was going, to a town about 30km away, and to which hotel.
He then phoned the hotel and spoke to the manager.
"OK...go there now, and go fast! I will be a discrete distance behind you."
So he did...fast
Got to the hotel, the manager had cleared the other parked cars in front of the hotel....people in the square actually applauded his arrival.
He was ushered into the bar for a welcome drink.
A few minutes later the policeman arrived, congratulated my friend, and announced that as his shift was now over he would join him for a drink and a conversation about his car!

I love Italy!
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Don't worry about the gendarmes. The funny fellows are completely occupied with hiding behind a hedge in our village, with a view to the only stop sign in miles. Especially on Sundays, between Christmas and New Year, that sort of thing.
I may have paid a €90 fine for a rolling stop
