"It was known that 10 of the pupils had special educational needs, eight were known to be sexually active, seven were known to have substance misuse problems and three were involved with the justice system at the time."
What did they expect was going to happen?
Good to see schools are still rewarding those that behave badly though. Plenty of well behaved hard working kids from families that can't afford these kind of trips.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

sounds quite tame tbh... or maybe they are only the stories the school know about.
What goes on on tour, stays on tour.

Would the defense for lack of care and supervision be, "It was a powder day".

Kind of inevitable given, "...Riverside School in Nottingham, which caters for children with behavioural and social issues..."

If that was the case then fair enough.

This was in 2017! The youngest person on that trip will be 20 by now.
Shoplifting, drinking and (probably) casual sex. Ok, the supervision seems to have been poor but these aren't exactly extraordinary and unknown teenage behaviours.
I see 2 British ski instructors were part of the 5 adult team doing the supervision... any of our SH instructors going to own up?

From that behaviour, could be that the youngest person on that trip is currently looking at their seventh birthday party…

I'm assuming you are saying 'powder day' in an Ali G accent with a little sniff at the end of it?

Any of which that are proven to happen while away on one of our trips will see the school force the parent to collect their child from the resort at their own expense!

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Ok, and in the history of your school taking pupils on trips, how many times have parents been 'forced' by that policy being implemented?
If no kid has ever been caught breaking the rules on a residential trip, I salute your school for producing students who are more cunning than their teachers.
