Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi folks, usually take my own skis (Backlands) but travelling light for a few days to Val T. We are staying in the 3 Vallees hotel.
Looking for more of an all mountain ski,wide enough for some side piste powder in the next couple of days. Most of the online offerings are pretty poor.
Any recommended shops with a good selection?

Just check out the places nearest to you til you find something you fancy. Remember to ask for a direct discount as they wont be losing 20% to an Internet middleman.

We used Zenith last year, they were very good.
They gave me and my daughter black crow serpos. Which were fine in shin deep fresh.
Another one of our group were struggling with their boots, so opened up a brand new pair out of the box.
I believe they are the only family run shop in the resort now.

I hired from Black Ski Maverick over New Year and was very happy with the service. They found some boots to fit some very wide calfs and provided some great advice in respect of skis to tackle the wonderful snow. Admittedly not very convenient for your hotel however but easy on the circular town bus which stops right outside.

My wife hired from Prosneige this year and they were excellent, the Fischer skis were out the wrapper! We used skiset the year before who were good (bit more expensive) but I've seen some videos on facebook of insane queue lengths there this year.
