Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Biarittz in August...

Has anyone got any top tips of last minute accomodation solutions in the Biarritz area for mid august? Bad idea I know, but dolphins have to head for the sun sometimes.... but nowhere to stay! Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Have phoned every mainstream pension, and even the campsites are claiming to be 'complet'.... Sad

dolphingirl, here's the official Biarritz web site (English version). It has an online hotel finder which might help you. I tried a couple and it gave some successes but mainly in more expensive places. The 'tourism', accommodation part of the site gives pensions, camp sites etc., but no on-line check of availability for these.

BUT, while looking for this I also found warnings that for accommodation in July & August bookings must be made 2 - 3 months in advance.
Hope you get lucky. Cool It's a nice place. Are you driving there ?
The west coast of France is great. Check an area called Les Landes - super Atlantic beaches backed by pine forests and lakes.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

it's sorted, hooray! had visions of
a) sleeping in car
b) pitching tent on the beach... although that doesn't sound such a bad option.

Drove down a couple of years ago, this time it's courtesy of ryanair (going to watch out for my bags...!)
