We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I’m going to La Clusaz for a week over New Year. Can anyone recommend a good restaurant /bar to go to on New Years Eve and also New Year’s Day. There will be a 13 and 17 year old in the group. Thanks

A few years ago I stayed in an apartment in La Clusaz with some friends who'd been there several times before. They recommended a small restaurant right by the church in the centre of town. It's actually a pizzeria called Pizzaminut and although they do takeaways they also have seating inside (I think for a maximum of 20 people). The food is very good and reasonably priced, and in addition to pizzas they also do various pasta dishes, salads and some regional specialities like tartiflette and also some desserts. The owner is very welcoming, but in view of the limited seating available if you want to eat there on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day I'd definitely recommend making a reservation well in advance. You can see some of the menu items on the website link I gave. I think they also do pichets of wine, bottled beers and soft drinks. Maybe check it out when you first arrive in resort and see if it would be suitable for your group?. Madeye-Smiley

must confess "pizzaminute" doesn't strike me as a festive location! basically translates as "fast pizza" and not in an "express" way!

Yes, I will do. I haven’t found much info on here about this resort. We’re only going for 6 days and it has a short transfer and tbh there wasn’t a lot of places to choose from with it being New Year and booking so late. Fingers crossed the snow is ok as it’s not too high

The town isn't, but there's higher skiing available! Have a super holiday. It's certainly convenient to drive from Gva.

Only skied there one day in the 1990s, but remember that there's some amazing off-piste over to the left hand side of the mountain. Not all skied out in an instant either as there aren't hoards of saisonnaires.
