Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

New Zealand update

Poster: A snowHead
Hey Snowheads

NZ is having a wicked start to the winter with regular snow falls and a good base. Cardrona and snow parks
pipes and parks are going off, the backcountry and heli skiing is getting some of the best snow in years and lift
access skiing at Treble cone and Cardrona is sick. I'm helping the guys out at racers edge when I'm not skiing with
there demo program.

There's some wicked skiers in Wanaka, both Kiwi and UK riders ripping it up on a regular basis. Book those's
flights and get down here to sample some fresh southern powder for yourself. There's no powder in Saas Fee!!

Heli skiing trips booking now!!

See you on the snow

skierchris, i'm currently sitting in HK airport on the way to NZ on a business trip but am planning to ski whakapapa/turoa next weekend.

Any tips on best runs greatly appreciated. I understand that you can take a short hike from the top lift at Whakapapa to look down into the crater of Mt Ruapehu and this sound great - have you done that?

Hi

Yeah, you pretty much hike straight up from the highest lift to the summit plateau and the dome hut or up the glacier about 300m.

Conditions are great at the moment, they just had some snow up there too!

New zealand alpine club have a great book out called 'NZ backcountry skiing' isbn 0-9582421-3-5 worth a look

Have fun!
