Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I have never come up with a better price going direct to the hotel website either though I have quite often got to reception and they have asked why we didn't come direct or told us there's an extra charge for spa etc which would have been included if we booked direct.

@stanton, my account is very much cancelled.

Booking.com lets you book without signing in and adds the booking to the relevant account.

Someone else did that with my email address.

I tried to complain about the booking -- someone else's name, half a world away, possibly pay on arrival but certainly not my payment info or personal details -- and after speaking to support who said they'd fix it, my account got closed instead and my follow up was ignored.

If they don't care enough to spot stuff like that or deal with it then told then I'm sure I could open another account with a different email, but I don't trust them, and wouldn't want to rely on them for future bookings or build up loyalty with them if it could be lost in a moment like that.

Still use them in the mix of other aggregators to find hotels to book direct with, but they're not getting another penny.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I use booking.com quite a bit so I get the genius discount or whatever it is. I've also tried booking direct with the hotel, through their site, and it's always been more expensive. Seems mad but I also just booked a car through holiday autos for 50 quid. I also checked the price direct, including the discount the rental company had sent me as a returning customer, and it was 150 quid. So it's not just a booking.com thing.

I had to book a load of hotels for a roadtrip and checked a shed load of sites and booking.com was always the best price. You used to get 10% back on quidco as well which made it even cheaper. Thanks for the heads up on Halifax, I'll try that as quidco no longer do it.

I just booked a couple of rooms last week for Rye over NY and my desktop gave me about 4 options. The app said there was no availability in that location on those dates. I tried it a few times and it was always the same. No idea what that was all about, I assume it wasn't intentional to keep mobile bookers out of Rye.

Trip.com are still on Quidco and usually a decent price.
