Yesterday Ruth Kelly, the Communities and Local Government Secretary, told Onslow Suffolk Ltd, the developers behind SnOasis, that its plans will have to face a full inquiry, which could add up to two years of further delay to the project. Once built, Snoasis would be the world’s biggest indoor snowdome and was intended to be a major training centre for athletes in the run up to the 2012 London Olympics. The project has already been delayed two years which has have ruined the opportunity of it benefiting British atheletes for the 2010 Winter Olympics but this latest obstruction looks likely to take that same opportunity away from the Summer athletes too.
