 Poster: A snowHead

Hoping someone can help advise on the possibility of a shared transfer from GVA to either Saint-Gervais-les-Bains (Bettex) or Megève (Mont d'Arbois) in March 2025.
We did a long weekend (Friday to Monday) a couple of years ago to Chamonix and it worked really well: skied all day Sat/Sun/Mon before late flight home on Monday evening. Looking to do something similar in March '25 but prefer a different resort.
Flaine/GM is out as we've been there loads recently so was looking at Evasion MB for something different. Accomodation options that would work for us are in either Bettex (St.G) or Mont d'Arbois (Megeve) but the tricky bit is shared transfers: the last time we tried this we could only get something to Chamonix so ended up in Les Praz.
Anyone know of any shared transfers to Megève that would operate on a Friday/Monday? Also, has anyone any idea if the Chamonix shared transfers would entertain a stop-off en-route at Gare La Fayet? I belive there's a new lift opening there in the next couple of months that we could possibly use to get up to Bettex?
I don't think the train from GVA to Le Fayet would work (would cut into skiing time too much) but haven't looked at the regular coach options. I might think of renting a car but it's a bit of a waste/hassle as it would be parked up for the entire time we'd be there (staying in hotel so no need for a supermarket run).
Thanks in advance for any ideas!

@mrchips, for just a few days a rented car could be usefully cheaper than a transfer. Provided your hotel offers parking (not a foregone conclusion). But I also think there's a bus from Gva to Megeve.
You've checked, and avoided, French school holidays I presume?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks Origen. I Sure have: our dates are March 14th to 17th (actually a holiday weekend back here in NI!)
Cheapest car rental currently looks to be near £300 (so only maybe £100 more than 2x adults shared transfer): it's not so much the cost but the hassle of parking/driving in bad conditions/collecting & dropping off that's putting me off it.

Yes, I can understand that, though you'd be unlucky having much problem with bad conditions just driving up to Megeve. If you can get good reliable return transfers for £100 each, that sounds a good bet.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@mrchips, in the ski season Alpybus do a shared transfer that goes from Geneva airport, first to St Gervais and then to Combloux and Megeve. In St Gervais and Combloux it only does a single drop off but it may drop off on demand in Megeve, I am not sure. There is usually an indicative timetable online though they do seem to flex that once they know numbers and flight times; last year there were transfers leaving the airport at 2130 and 2330 for late flights on Fridays, and getting there on Monday 1630 or 1830 (there are more transfers at weekends than weekdays). Last year it cost around €30 each way to St Gervais.
An alternative is the Flixbus which stops at Sallanches en route to Chamonix, allowing you to change for local buses to St Gervais and Les Contamines or Combloux and Megeve. However the last local bus is at 1920.
Several of the Chamonix shared transfers will stop at Le Fayet station, certainly Mountain Dropoffs do and I think the Chamonix Alpybus. As you have heard, they are about to open the new gondola running up from the station car park to St Gervais, it is currently undergoing safety tests and is due to open on 1st September. I am not sure what the intended hours are. However there is another new lift which opened earlier this month, a funicular running from the thermal baths up the hillside to the road at the entrance to town; that one is free and operates until 2200 but involves about a half mile walk from the station.
You can also get from Geneva airport to Le Fayet by train, however the last train is around 2100. Alpybus is much better for late arrivals.

if you stay in StG or Bettix, you only need shared transfer to Le Fayet train station as the new gondola will be in play (assuming you arrive before 20.30) & I can't see why a Chamonix transfer wouldn't drop you there.

Thanks everyone: got a few confirmed options for shared transfers to Le Fayet train station. Should be easy enought to get up to Bettex from there with the new lift

Last year a shared transfer all the way to St Gervais with Alpybus was cheaper than the ones we found only going to Le Fayet. And ran later than the lift will run.
