@PrinceJohn, I think the Villards covered car park may be closed all winter because of structural issues. I spotted something on an owners' newsletter recently, although I didn't pay much attention as it's on the other side of the resort to me and I have my own parking space. But if it is closed for the winter that's going to put pressure on the other covered parking places, so it might be worth you looking in to the situation sooner rather than later to see what the options are and making early parking arrangements for your trip.

Ah I see. Thanks for letting me know. I've just had a quick look online and I'm not sure I'm able to pre-book the parking this far in advance (I may of course be looking in the wrong place though).

I'm not sure what the arrangements are for this winter as things do seem to be a bit up in the air. Might be worth sending an email to the Tourist Office, they are normally very quick to respond.

Thanks, I will do.
I just tried to do the online booking form but it spat out an error and said "Online parking space reservations for winter 2024-2025 will be available from November 2024." so my guess would be the won't open up the reservations until November. Still, doesn't hurt at all to ask.

@PrinceJohn, I don't know 1800 itself particularly well but from my experience of staying in many other apartments and stations is that usually there is somewhere to park near the apartment block that allows for unloading. It's faff enough negotiating doors, lifts, stairs without having to deal with navettes.

There's currently a sale running on lift passes via the Les Arcs website.
https://www.lesarcs-peiseyvallandry.com/en/shopping-cart
Up to 40% off on certain weeks and they're plugging the Essentials as an upgrade.
The 40% is over the Easter weeks, too. The Essentials was cheaper than the Classic. We got ours for €1050 for 3 adult and 1 child pass.
By sheer coincidence, I had priced up passes the night before, and the same ones were €1500, so it's a decent saving.

There seem to be a lot more 'offers' on the Essentials pass this year too - including restaurant discounts.
As above, it's cheaper to get the Essentials than the Classic for some of the weeks during this sale period.
It's even cheaper than using the Ski a la Carte - although this year's prices are not available yet, based on last year same opening week. One of the reasons I like SalC is to take days off without feeling guilty about 'wasting' the pass. if I take 2 days off while using Essentials, it is STILL the same day rate as SalC ( assuming their prices don't go down - and where does THAT ever happen!) .

Looks like its on a limited number - the Essential 6 day pass at 341 Euro has ''only 4 at this price left''. Get them quick!

Yes, definitely limited and increasing in price in steps. Bought 3 over 13yrs and 1 under 13yrs yesterday and when sister sister was buying hers today our order would have been about €70 more with this mornings prices, and now gone up another €70!! Was worth acting fast!

Is it worrying that no info on the ski a la carte prices has been published yet, and there is no mention of that option on Paradiski, Les Arcs, or La Plagne web sites. Is it possible they're not going to be in the scheme this season?

I’ve not heard anything to suggest that Paradiski will be leaving the scheme, and can’t recall when they confirm prices for the forthcoming winter. Is there usually some kind of formal announcement of prices normally released at this time of year? The last email I got from them, three weeks go, said that Pralognan was joining the scheme but there was no mention of any resorts leaving.

Yeah - I've not seen anything either. Actually, I'd assumed that other resorts *had* already been added/linked on the skialacarte web site, but now see that's only for summer use. So you're probably absolutely right - no need to worry and I should go have a cup of tea

Has anyone ever stashed their shoes at the funicular in BSM, under the benches or otherwise, while they head up the hill? Im doing a season and can't seem to find a well priced locker / place to simply store my street shoes. Any tips would be welcome.

Just bought my Essentials pass for Dec, and realised that as I turn 65 it's a LOT cheaper than Mrs Roll's pass (6x where x<5) so she is going to use her SalC.
For those worrying about SalC this year, our invoices definitely state that they run until 1 year after purchase, which is Jan 27th and March 18th respectively, so not something we're too worried about.
But here's a quick question: I have the SalC Carre neige season insurance. Which similarly runs Jan - Jan. So I possibly mistakenly ? believe that covers me for this Dec - when I'll be using an Essentials pass
Has anyone delved into the small print enough to see if the SalC card hasn't been activated for a particular day, then the insurance isn't either? (which would be a bit daft: you could have an accident skiing to your first lift for e.g)

Do you have the Carre Neige Liberte insurance, mentioned here: https://www.skialacarte.fr/gb/content/1-carre-neige
If so, then it seems its reduced price compared to the regular Carre Neige limits its use as follows (the bold part I think addresses your question?):
Thanks to this Carré Neige Liberté, insurance, you will be covered on all the 9 ski areas of the Ski à la Carte network (Carré Neige Liberté is linked only to your Ski à la Carte membership and is therefore limited to the 9 ski areas within the Ski à la Carte perimeter, when using your Ski à la Carte card, and does not cover claims in the event of a skiing accident with another ski pass).

Does anyone have any suggestions for accommodation for myself, my son and another friend on the evening of Friday 13th of Feb, we are trying to beat the rush into the valley on Saturday the 14th but are struggling to find anywhere for that one extra evening. Tried Basecamp and they have nothing available except the capsule rooms and those disappear the moment I mention a child as part of the party so I assume they don't want unaccompanied children in a room, which is understandable.
