Well spotted skichampcouk.
Any idea where it will finish in La Plagne?

Following on from rdsweb's post from a few weeks back, on the Roche de Mio webcam you can now see a line of supports for the new lift going down to Col de Forcle.

Just booked our easter trip with friends (first time taking all our babies) now to religiously stalk the webcams until easter.
We're staying in a 4 bed apartment in Les Balcons de Belle Plagne, does anyone know how big the kitchen areas are? 6 adults and 3 kids trying to work out how much food we can buy on the journey for our evening meals

If you can wait until January, I'll be able to tell you then - we're there 1st week

@Liv7, you asking how much storage there will be?
I've never known there to be insufficient and your chosen accommodation seems pretty high end so I wouldn't expect it to be an issue.

Hi, we stayed in a 5 bed apartment a few years ago and the kitchen was pretty spacious with quite a bit of storage. It had a decent enough fridge but we did store some things in a shady bit of the Balcony (early April) in a cheap coolbox we got in the Carrefour. We shopped for 5 days worth of meals on the way up and squeezed it all in. The freezer was not huge, maybe had 2 drawers but enough for a bit of frozen veg and some meat and most importantly ice for drinks! Full sized oven, microwave and a proper sized hob (might even have been 6 rings).

Some of the pictures on the website made it look more of a kitchenette, we didn't want to do a "big" shop and then have no where to store it

Thank you sounds like we should be able to get by doing our usual come dine with me style evening meals!

Confirmed today, but just says "La Plagne" as the finish. However it gives the finish height as 2052m which AFAIK would rule out Plagne Centre

I believe the finish line will be in Plagne Villages

Oh right .. any details on where that info came from. TBF there's a nice big car park there for all the infrastructure.

@eblunt, One of the local residents has a Facebook page (not sure if she’s on here) and posted it on Facebook today that it was confirmed to finish in Plagne Villages.

roughly 1 month until opening weekend - not a flake of snow on the webcams (glacier aside!).......
Time for the snow dances and daily checking of webcams/snow forecast

Yup, Ruswit, snow right down to Plagne Centre and beyond.
In fact there is a sprinkling in Les Coches and Montalbert.
Lovely

@chopkins13, We all owe you one!
Now obviously some is going to melt and we need to start hoping the fresh snow outpaces the melting.

Webcams show a blanket covering today across La Plagne, fingers crossed temps stay low and it’s the start of a base for the season.

The automatic meteo station on Bellecote (at 3,000m) has recorded just over 30cm of fresh snow today at that altitude.

Oddly the glacier web cam seems like it didn't get much snow, although it is barely possible to see out as it has a frozen lens. The roof of the gondola station is clearly visible, i.e not snow covered.
The rest of the resort looks dreamy, however!

50-60cm of fresh snow recorded at 3,000m.

@Ruswit, Probably just wind swept - the snow will be there somewhere! Hopefully this is the base for the season now and it says cold going forwards.

Been trying to buy a Paradiski Season pass online, but it tells me under delivery method that I have to select mail delivery for season passes. Does anyone know if there is anyway to buy a season pass online, but collect it in resort? I know that week passes etc you can just go to any kiosk with the QR code, but seems to be different for Season passes?

@trmacc, Last year I just loaded my season pass onto a week card from a previous year. Have you got a pass hanging around from a previous trip? I understand there are only so many brands/companies who operate the lift pass systems, so sometimes they can even work from another resort.
I just went through the whole process up until the payment screen to see if I got the same, and it does say something like "for season passes use mail delivery" but it actually lets you check the pick up at a kiosk option, but perhaps risky. Maybe email the ski pass office for your resort.

hi, yup tried a few old passes, but don't have Paradski one (3vs, PDs and they didn't work, I think because needs to be a photo one for Season?) Yeah I saw you could do the kiosk option despite the message about using mail delivery, but agree seemed risky. I emailed the office asking if I could buy online and pick up in resort and got the reply, "yes surely you can either buy online or at the resort and pick up there" so I am none the wiser! Next move, ask fluent french speaking sister to call them! Thanks

@trmacc, I had to upload a photo but at no point did I need a photo printed on my card - the chair lifts etc all have screens that the operator can see which flash up your photo if you scan a season pass. That's not to say they won't print one on your brand new pass!
Hopefully they sort you out, that response seems like they think you can collect there at least.

aha, so the photo is just on their system, rather than on the card. OK so probably can collect from any kiosk then - thanks

My wife and my season passes have photos on them from a few years ago. We just recharge them. Our son's from last year doses not have a photograph and I think he just walked into the lift pass office and bought one from the sales person. They took his picture there and then, though the assistant had to wander around the back of the office to find the camera.
@trmacc, why not order it online and have them post it to you; IIRC it takes less than 2 weeks to come. If it fails to arrive then take the pass number to the office and they will issue you with another card. You will get an email with it on. The cards do have your name printed on them so there is no problem picking up someone else's card by mistake.

I do not know about La Plagne but Les Arcs did last year have lift pass offices staffed by real people who were always delightfully helpful.

All sorted, and confirmed by helpful staff at the office, that even though it specifically says on the website to choose mail delivery, you can in fact just select collect at kiosk!

There are 2 lift pass companies in Europe, so you can reuse any old cards you haven't returned, as long as the resort uses that system
TeamAxess passes in resorts like La Plagne etc have numbers starting WTP: xxxxxxxx-xxx-xxx
SkiData is used by other resorts and has number format 01-1614 xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx-x

Actually found a couple of child Skidata ones, can you load an adult pass onto that then? It actually says "Enfant" on it.

@trmacc, I have La Plagne issued ski passes that the kids paid child rates on previously but now pay adult rates.
