It’s the current chart but for some reason it includes an old date - perhaps from when I initially saved the link to my favourites?

I know most here follow the Western alps, I go to Austria and so keep a keen eye there , I returned from Austria about ten days ago.
Weather was beautiful but snow was needed lower down, since I’ve been back there was one fall (nothing too big) but the next 14 days look bone dry.
Sad to see
It’s been a very prolonged dry spell

Thanks for the update from the other side!
I've also been in Austria for the past 1,5 weeks. Been to a few lower-ish resorts in the eastern part (Saalbach, Alpbach, Tauplitz, Kitzbühel, Schladming) and conditions there were fine but indeed spring-like, with quite a lot of green on the south-facing sides of the mountains. Last Tuesday it rained all day in Schladming under ~900-1300m.
In Obertauern last Wednesday the conditions were great though, with a bit of fresh snow (but the village sits at 1600m).
I do feel like the intense snowfalls earlier this winter have provided a good base, so nearly all slopes I saw were still open and white, even if with varying degrees of quality.
I was planning to go to Slovenia but changed the planning to Ischgl and Kappl and the conditions here are superb. Still a lot of snow and the quality is great, with just a few icier runs (they do make artificial snow even when not strictly needed, but just to maintain slope quality).
There's no snow in the forecast indeed; bluebird sky and it is a bit warm, though it should get a bit colder towards the end of the week.
Bottom line, the obvious (but now with some empiric evidence): above ~1500m conditions are still amazing; below that everything is still open, but you'll be facing spring conditions (slush and some ice) and some green landscapes.

Looking dry but have been seeing hints of cold flakes coming on an easterly at the end of this week .

I've also been seeing flip-flopping signals for something for the south and east over the weekend.

ECM seems to suggest snow Friday/Saturday mainly south of the main ridge, GFS shows no interest at all. Was in the Arlberg at the weekend and similar but snowier than Ischgl (no sign of hard pack). Even with bright sunshine it felt cold in most places, needed to be wrapped up to sit outside for lunch. Snow should last a while especially as it seemed to be very dry.

GFS showing something too now, question is always how far in these fronts get, whether it will just be for the south and east facing flanks of the alps.

BBC weather (dont laugh ) is suggesting western Italy will benefit most. light SW winds over most of this coming long weekend with low temps and light snow / showers on and off

It's going to be mild next week in arosa! I was hoping for cold.

Yes the wall to wall sunshine certainly looks to be ending come the weekend, its just whether the 4/5 days there after deliver a few flakes or 20cm+.....Wait and see!

fascinated to hear the predictions for half term as they come in. Last 2 were plus 14, hoping for colder than that at least.

To be fair to you - they use the ECMWF for their forecasts - its the blue line you often seen when people publish the graphs

To my very amateur eye, it’s looking dry for the foreseeable in the western alps or am I wrong? Are we allowed to talk about half term yet?

Snow Forecast is changing almost hourly between about 12cm - 1cm for Tarantaise resorts over Sunday/Monday. The charts on ECMWF look promising, with the precipitation coming in from the East, hopefully it can push across into those Western areas.

Austria
08 02 2025
Big temperature differences now at Midday. 15° with foehn in Bludenz, 14° in Schwaz in the Inn Valley and 13° in Elsbethen near Salzburg.
On the other hand, it is still around 0° in foggy Weitra in the Waldviertel.

Is there a glimmer of hope for 20cm top up before half term? Heading to montafon in the voralberg Austria on 14th for half term keeping fingers crossed for a bit of fresh before then. It certainly looks cold for half term week

10cm or so in Serre Chevalier overnight and today, only WePowder came close to predicting anything like that. It seems like the main models struggle to predict how far in an easterly front will push. Off to check out Italy tomorrow, hopefully they've got a bit more.
