Interesting. Probably the skier could use more "reference" for the horizon level (the far side has no indicator for that on it). He keeps looking over his shoulder. They may want some way to control the speed of the thing - again he's easily quicker than the rotation in some cases. Looks more of a simulator than the simple "belt" machines..
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@Alastair Pink, If they were using someone who could actually ski to model it, it looks terrible,

Looks niche (assume its real).

Not convinced of any real benefit

I’m a very crap skier and even that looks like a complete waste of time to me.

Not sure he's gash, just the physics/ environment may only permit kinda jump turns. I recall some promotional video of Chemmy Alcott at that Chelski rolling carpet where she looked pretty gash.
There's 2 questions with these things
1) Is it fun in its own right? or
2) Is it close enough to the real thing to be valid training?
Snowdomes and dryslopes tick 2. Wave pools may tick both. This may tick neither.
snowHeads are a friendly bunch.

She has to almost stop after each turn to let the slope catch up.
And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

I can see a Skier would soon get drenched with water falling from top of cylinder....?
So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

I took my kids to one of that Basingstoke type in Dubai last summer. Totally bizarre to be in a badly insulated warehouse during the middle of summer whilst strapping ski boots on in shorts and tee shirts. Obviously we have the ski slope at the mall too; but that is too much hard work carting kids stuff through the mall. Actually seems like quite a useful machine as they can vary the pitch as well as the speed of the carpet.
