Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Late March destination idea

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi all,

I am looking for suggestions for destinations for 1 week departing the weekend of 23rd/24th March for a couple. I have ski experience as a teenager but haven't skied for 15 years, I am basically a beginner again! My partner is a complete novice. We have had a couple of lessons on a dry slope at home so have the absolute basics down but do want lessons during our stay.

I have been looking at Crystal/Sunweb simply for convenience of having everything arranged and am gravitating toward France. Alpe d'Huez, Val Thorens and Les Deux Alpes all look excellent for beginners to intermediate and come in around £1,400 all in for flights/accom/pass/hire and lessons. Austria looks unlikely as an option as that is school holidays.

Any advice? Other cheaper / better destinations?

Thank you in advance!

If you can get a holiday in Val Thorens in late March for £1400 I'd go for that - it is a better bet, that late in the season (and in such a poor season for snow) than the other two.

That doesn't include food, presumably? But if you have an apartment where you can cook for yourselves, that won't be ruinous.

Have a great time re-discovering how much you like skiing. You're very wise to have lessons.

I am going to Les Arcs on 29/03 for Easter. High access skiing and can go over to La Plagne however planning to avoid as it will likely be very busy!

We ended up going for Val Thorens and depart on Sunday. Cannot wait to get back on the slopes!

@revans, good choice, I've just spent 2 days in Brides les Bains skiing in Meribel valley and low level snow is suffering. VT at 2300m should be good.
