Biggest problem I had was my Apple AirPod Pro's running out of charge mid way through the day for the live feedback/coaching

Like @NoMapNoCompass, I got an early bird pass renewal for £159 this year and I'm very happy to carry on paying for something that is improving year on year with really good customer service. A friend has had Carv since the beginning so has the sensor pads and has been using them properly for about 4 years. She's very happy. Has had issues with breaking leads and has had them replaced fuss free for free each time. She's on a lifetime pass so happy days.
Me and the hubby had been toying for a long time but always felt that weren't good enough to justify the expense. Fast forward to Carv 2 and a Black Friday deal of £159 last year for sensors and an annual pass and we were in. We then had to pay for helmet headphones and hubby then needed a new audio compatible helmet but hey in for a penny and all that! We have had no regrets and it has improved our skiing by quite some margin.
@rob@rar, I charge every third day or so but they do last longer. Longer than my blooming iphone anyway!

Never had that issue. How old are your AirPods? I actually only wear one at a time anyway.

For anyone considering carv and full disclosure I am now a Carv ambassador, but I can now refer people and they get £40 off. Just putting it out there.
My current ski iq is 143, but new algorithm coming out any day so all will change again!

I’m on the beta software so can’t join the snowboards group yet. Can you add me though when the new software comes out next week?

Just looking at the CARV Instagram. I like the new sensor packaging this year. Much more compact little box to keep them in.
I have sensors from last season and took advantage of the early season pass offer this year so am sorted for 25/26. Am thinking of getting my wife a season pass and sensors though, can your offer get me discount on those?

Sure thing. I’ll send you a PM with a discount link.
The packaging now is nice and small. I’ve been sent a few demo units and they look great. You’re going to love the new software and I’m not revealing too much as they’ve announced it already, but no need to stop anymore to get a best score. Just do a long run and it will take your best 8 turns to give you your score. It will also sub divide into different types of skiing.

Thanks to @PisteOffice for sorting me out with a discount code - I ended up with £40 off the £199 price for a set of sensors and a season pass. These will be going to my wife for this coming season - she tried my sensors and a guest pass at the end of last season and really liked CARV.
Sensors are apparently selling well for this season so if anyone is keen I would get an order in asap.

That is actually guaranteed sadly...
I am hoping to break into the 140s this season (currently in 130s). On the one day I loaned her the sensors last season she was 143...

@NoMapNoCompass, Oh dear.....my best score was 143 last season. The new algorithm might hurt us all. Although some will get better scores!
My aim is to hit 150, but i'll be happy with breaking 145.

@PisteOffice, does the new algorithm recalculate last seasons scores?
|
|
|
|
|
|
 You know it makes sense.
|
@kitenski, yes it will do. Every season the update the algorithm as it gets more accurate with more and more users.
Some people it goes up and others it goes down. I used to worry about it, but reality is that I use it as a measure of my improvement and what I need to work on. During a course of a season I can see the gains I have made. What it starts at the next season is almost irrelevant.

@kitenski, it has done in previous years, I've always dropped and had to work hard to regain my Grim Ripper and that's getting harder every year, big 70 next year

@KenX, not always. Mine went up one year and down every other year!
This one will be better for people who didn’t “game” the system by stopping every 10 turns to get a score.
Those who did stop will be more interesting.
Well done on grim reaper!!! Amazing.

@PisteOffice, I did a bit of gaming and a bit of skiing, be interesting to see what happens, but also got very bored with trying to "game" it so looking forwarding to just skiing top to bottom

@kitenski, yup. It’s a game changer. Also the sub sections where it will give you a score on moguls, powder, carving turns, shirt turns. Will be a big upgrade.

PisteOffice - Is there still going to be an overall ski IQ or are all the 4 categories now going to have separate scores and leader boards etc.?
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
@doddsie, you will still have an overall score which I believe will be your best one. You will have sub sections though with a breakdown of each turn type.
While we focus on ski iq. The big changes in the app are going to be training and coaching. There are big improvements coming. I really hope you all love it.

@PisteOffice - It will be interesting to see which turn type is the easiest to get a high score and therefore ski iq.

@swskier - Junior is not getting to France until a couple of days before Christmas, so you should have a little while at the top of the table.

Just bought a pair of new Dynastar World Cup GS skis for €400 purely for the R22 raceplate and Rockerflex bindings to fit onto my Dynastar SL skis to beef them up, but will try the GS first, 170cm so not long, to see how they score, if no good then I'll swap the bindings and sell them on!

@KenX, Ha! Mix and match dynasatar.
While I’m as guilty as the next person of hopping/prayer that equipment will improve my score, my ESF ski instructor has never tried Carv before so I let him try and either 12 year old skis on that the binding was broken (it literally allowed his heel to lift as it wasn’t gripping his boot properly) and without stopping after 10’turns……..bug scored 164.
