If you mean the one that was developed by a SHs daughter, it's called 90 days IN Schengen. Its absolutely the best one. Intuitive and easy to read. The free ones are rubbish.. really hard to tell how many days you have left. I would pay for 90 days in schengen

@holidayloverxx, if you mean Crocodile Sandwich she's not my daughter , although the ages would work....
For anyone interested, the app is not free but is a very reasonable one-off purchase.

Woke up an hour early, so decided to chance an earlier departure. Booked on the 06:24, arrived at the checkin booths at about 04:00, and offered the 05:24 free of charge. Currently in the boarding lanes, and it looks like the next train is 04:44, but dunno if I'll get on it. Only about 10 cars in front of me.

Coming home on Saturday, it was an experience of two half’s.
We sat in extremely busy queues for passports for approximately 90 minutes, once past them it was a ghost town and drove straight onto a train

@Jonny996, seems to be standard now, don't understand why they don't use the holding lanes and try and clear traffic from terminal

@Boris, do they even still have the holding lanes? We've never used them, so I don't know where they are, and was wondering if that was where they'd built the EES booths?

@Hells Bells, yes they’re all still there after you’ve gone through passport control
Always used to sit there for a while before boarding and play toilet roulette- dare you risk a trip to look before barrier opens
Last few times just driven through and onto train

@Hells Bells, I think the holding lanes referred to by @Boris, are those just before you get on the train. Instead of crawling forward a couple metres stopping, turning the engine off, waiting 5 minutes then repeating for an hour or so they could hold you up stationary for 30 or 60 minutes behind a barrier where you turn the engine off, go to the toilet, have a walk or a snooze and then when summoned drive through passport control quickly.
Or then again they could just employ more border police.

@johnE, they're after passport control, but otherwise yes wait there for 30 mins before boarding and use the loos and the self-service machines.
They always used to be holding at least 2 trains worth of cars here
Now it seems to be all held in terminal area and then called to progress through and straight onto train - presumably as they want you in the terminal spending money.

@johnE, there were some other holding lanes somewhere though, as I vaguely remember them being mentioned. I think when terminal was full so maybe just after check-in somewhere? @Boris OK, so just the usual boarding lanes. They were certainly all full and in operation when I was there the other week.

@Hells Bells, possibly, they may have been swallowed by EES building? Interesting they were in use when you used.
@Layne, Inclined to agree, there never seems to be any logic or consistency. I just assume I'm in the system and will leave at some point!

For those of us who still us our much-diminished Tesco boost Vouchers for our Eurotunnel fares, you now seem to be able to use them in Calais-Folkestone direction. In the past they could only be used if the journey commenced from Folkestone.

Only found out at Christmas that you can collect Avois points on LeShuttle - just looked at my account after the points for two eyewateringly expensive crossings registered, grand total of a fiver off my next crossing
Think I'll stick to Tesco double points

On the French side, there was a fairly large holding area pre-checkin on the left hand side. They moved the pet reception centre to this site a few years ago.

@sno trax, I thought there was a holding area mentioned in the past. Never been in it , or rather we have now it is the pet reception area. This has been a temporary cabin for a number of years now, and was previously a decent recently refubished buidling on the right hand side before check-in. . I'm wondering if this is where EES will be?

@Hells Bells, We've never used the area as a holding area and only been there since the PRC moved. It was certainly laid out for holding cars.
I wondered if the move of the PRC from the old building was EES related as it seemed to coincide with the timing of the move. However, that area is also pre-check-in and so not 100% sure how it would fit into the flow for EES though.

There used to be an area used somewhere under the bridge approaching checkin at Calais where vehicles were sent when the terminal was saturated. If you ever got directed there you knew it would be grim. Think half term returns.
