Just checked and they are on sale now, slight discount but still 334 euros for a week

Personally, would not buy a week pass especially the Unlimited pass as you are better off getting day passes.

Does anyone know if the Chamskideal will be active this season? We’ve used that the last few years and got some good deals but the website isn’t working now. The advance prices on the main website are currently no cheaper than the on the day price for when we go. Thanks

Hi
Never skied Chamonix before so forgive the ignorance. I’m looking at 6 day pass starting end of Dec; family of 5 adults, who are all decent skiers.
Are you guys recommending just getting Cham local skipass? And possibly just getting Unlimited for a day or two? Is so, do you just pay a supplement to get Unlimited for the day?
We’re planning on staying in Cham Centre, and at some stage during the week we’d like to do the “breakfast in Italy, and late lunch in Switzerland” thing. Is that possible time wise?
Cheers

Hi ukoldschool
I presume that’s for. Cham local pass, and not Unlimited?
Cheers

@Skime, I don't think you can "upgrade" the Pass for an unlimited one. But never had to try, so YMMV. You thinking of Cervinia? Seems like a trek for little value to my (although, obvs, the Matterhorn).

Oh geez.
They’re telling me €321.40 for 6 days Unlimited, at booking@chamonix.com
I don’t know if you have to book accommodation with them to get that price, but we are.
Most expensive European ski ticket I’ve bought, but will hopefully be worth it.
Thanks for info.

Actually I don’t know. Do you have Chamonix experience, and recommend just local skipass? I’m very open to suggestions and help

@Skime, I live in Chamonix - whether that counts or not is debatable. Unlimited gets you access to the Aiguille du Midi (for which you probably need a guide) and Les Houches, which is only useful if everything else is closed e.g. due high wind, some access to Courmayeur which is a nice excursion but needs a car or an early/late bus and 50% discount in Verbier.

Thanks Under.
I assumed you can go up to A du midi and ski down, but can’t find any maps showing that (but I can see ski runs for others in area like Balm, Houches, G Montet). Am I correct that you are allowed ski down to Cham centre? If you have a link for appropriate ski map, I’d appreciate it.
Also I’ve seen other references saying you can go across to Courmayeur, but from you it sounds like the only way (except possibly extreme !!), is via the tunnel?
From my reading it also sounded like Unlimited pass included access to Verviers, not 50%, so I’ll need check that. Thanks again

@Skime, it's a frequently busy route but it's not a ski run, entirely "off "piste (although it can often look "pisted" just because of traffic).
It's on glacier terrain so if you can't navigate on a glacier you need a guide (and if you can navigate a glacier you don't need marked runs - haha).
Yes, check the Verbier situation - I could have mixed it. Courmayeur is through the tunnel (there are buses times for skiing, albeit an early start and a late fiinish).

Excellent info. Many Thanks!
I’ll probably be getting back to you later on ref a guide for us. Or maybe now!
There’s 5 of us so maybe getting on a group guided day/morning isn’t much cheaper than a guide just for us 5?

@Skime, no particular guide recs I'm afraid. You'd want to just check with the guide's office ... can't recall group max, 6 I think?

I think you’re right Under a new name. Seems it’s only 50%off Verbier, and CransMontana is over 100k away! I say “seems” because correct/updated/clear info has been a struggle for me. Anyway, I’ll probably still go for the Unlimited for the Aiguille du Midi experience and Courmayeur, and the few touristy things my daughters would like.
