Poster: A snowHead
|
Really struggling to find some ski trousers for my partner, she is 160cm and weighs about 42kg. Normally wears a size 6 UK ( 2 US). Jeans 24 W 31-32L
We have tried XS from Marmot, Elevenate, Mountain Hardwear (basically everything from SportPursuit) and they are all way too big in the waist.
I suggested some kids ones but she thinks the legs will be too short.
Any suggestions?

Check out the North Face Snoga pants, they fit small and are 'hugging'. May even be some in the sales currently.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Might be worth trying some "bib" trousers as waist fit then becomes irrelevant. Or use a belt?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

My daughter (nearly 16) is that size although maybe a touch taller, she refuses to wear kids stuff where poss and she found some Dope trousers that fit with the waist adjusters done up tight.
I doubt kids/ teens trousers would be too short, and they’ll be cheaper! I’d wear them if I could

Decathlon do xxs which fit my 14 year old daughter who was the same size last year. Their top end stuff is very nice.

Whoa that is small! I'm also 160cm and about 50kg and I have some Roxy skipants with an adjustable waist that I can highly recommend. I wear S with the adjustable waist pulled in almost as tight as it will go so she would probably be okay with an XS

Thanks for all the replies. Couldn't find those North Face ones in an XS unfortunately, have ordered some bib pants. The ones we have from Sport Pursuit all fit with the waist adjustment done right up but are then baggy just below the waist and look odd... We are in rural Dorset so no Decathlon anywhere near but might have to order some online. Tried some Trespass kids ones on today in town and the waist to inside leg ratio doesn't work, also the quality was pretty poor.
It's odd, she doesn't really struggle with normal clothes...
I'd be worried about altering ski clothes with all the taped seams etc.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Just to say that you will definitely need to order decathlon stuff online if you decide to try them - even if you were near a store they rarely have much gear in at this time of year. Returns process is easy though.
