The WSJ was also reporting that the project is getting a massive reality check with spiralling costs, poor quality construction and logistical nightmares. The first mile and a half has already cost over $100bn from the original project budget of $500bn - and current projected estimates now rapidly exceeding $2tn |
Almost makes HS2 look like value for money! Currently looking at $70 to get to Birmingham but at least we'll have extra rail capacity on a section of the network currently running at full capacity at the end of it. Saudi will have something that sounds more like a super-sized version of the bad guy's lair from the Quantum of Solace Bond film.

Undoubtedly interesting to visit (like NYC or Vegas) but wouldn’t want to live there.

We thought about moving to Dubai after deciding to quit the uk. Having thought for a while I recon I’ll spend long enough in hell when I’m dead. We came to Canada instead, make hay while the sun shines

Firstly it is not Trojena, secondly no, thirdly who knows.
I was interviewed 18 months ago to work on that mountain resort project and it seems to have cracked on since then. Webuild it, people will come
I decided go to Hegra to work instead, not too far away, Al Ula the nearest town, lots happening in the region and pretty impressive.
It is basically desert with rocks but was surprised to find it quite green with a few million date trees in the region ... and water was supplied from aquifers.

Dubai is epic for tax, gold steaks, and yachtgirls.
Everything else, not so much.
