Ah good point @BergenBergen. I just checked and my manual (Skoda Karoq) says the same, so it looks like socks are the only option.

They look good @damanpunk, but seriously £££
Thanks @PrinceJohn. There are actually a few Konig models which fit my tyre size, but I think the issue is lack of clearance between the inner side of the tyre, and the suspension and brakes.

Ahh I see. I’d be surprised if you can’t get the plastic wrapped cable back there though. Saying that, the cable is one thing, your hand to clip the two ends together is another!

+1, mine were Weissenfels 'Click and Go Quattro' for a Golf which won't take normal chains.
'Maggi Trak Sport' chains are similar - there may be others.

Twice I've had front fit only wheels, and managed to get them used of ebay. In both cases they were virtually new each time- as you'd expect if buying off Brits. I think Maggie are defunct, but they'll be out there; and Polaire too. Research the models you would need, rather than the size- searches come up better.

I have Spike Spider Easy front-fitting chains. They do a variety of different types. See their website. As people say, these are more expensive than conventional chains but will work on setups where there’s not enough room for chains to rotate between the inner side of the tyre and the suspension/brake pipes/steering if FWD.
If you look at the various threads on chains you’ll notice the comment that just because there is a chainset that will fit your tyre size, it doesn’t mean the vehicle can actually take them. You need it confirmed from your owners manual or your garage. You’ll also read advice to pack a set of thin gloves, carpet square and head torch, all of which will make the process easier.
Note that in some cases, you may need to do a bit of adjustment of the chainset to fit your specific size. Sometimes this will involve rotating some of the links etc. Something best done before you leave home, rather than up a mountain. If you need to check adjustments and/or want to get some practice, then give it a go on your spare wheel (if you have one) first: it’s a lot easier.
