Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I'd heard the snow was bad in Morzine but seeing the webcam brings it home. https://en.morzine-avoriaz.com/webcams.html
Glad I decided not to book a last minute Jan deal.

@BenTisdall, there are loads of threads already about snow conditions and a very detailed one about the Portes du Soleil. We really don't need another one. But you have only had a couple of days to book a last minute January deal (because it wouldn't have been last minute if you'd book a fortnight ago, would it?). There are weeks left this month and snow is forecast.

 Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Yes, it’s dreadful. Everyone (especially the Dutch) should steer clear (photo taken yesterday)

@BenTisdall,
Brings what home?
Anything below 1600m is a struggle atm. Which is exactly what the webcams show.
Lots of resorts have plenty of skiing above 2000m.

@BenTisdall, Fabulous day today in St Anton. Sunshine and plenty of skiing above mid-mountain.

Actually, it is rubbish. Everybody intending to come should cancel.

@BenTisdall,

Another beautiful day in Tignes with wall to wall sunshine and quiet pistes.

Still time to book for a quick January trip, you won't be disappointed

No snow this year. No sun either. Stay away, try another hobby closer to home and that won't mean more cars on our roads. Stay indoors. Watch some streamed nonsense, the whole 10 seasons of it.

Why not watch 10 series. That way you can avoid the boring summer season.

Head to Utah. Alta has 835cm of season snowfall. 2 meters in just the past 3 weeks. You won't be disappointed. More is on the way for the Western US ski resorts. snowHead

Head to Utah....You won't be disappointed
Unless you were me and Mrs MA one January about 10 years ago Laughing We spent two weeks skiing at Park City, Deer Valley, Canyons, Alta and Snowbird in wall to wall sunshine. Not a cloud in the sky and not a single powder turn to be had Confused

The classic 'You guys shudda been here last week' syndrome. Then (of course wink) it dumped the day after we came home.

C'est la vie!! We've had plenty of great powder skiing since - and still had a great time in Utah, skiing some great steeps Very Happy We've never been back though....

The web cams there do look pretty dire. Obviously you can always find some snow, but I can't see why people would deny the obvious as shown in those cameras.

To me the whole game is to work out where the snow is, then go there. People pretending it's where it isn't aren't helping.
