Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Non skiing things to do in Les Arcs area

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hello all,

I apologise if this topic has been raised but I cannot find anything using the search. I am travelling with my partner at the end of the month to Les Arcs/Vallandry who doesn't ski. Can anyone recommend things to do that are not covered on the Les Arcs website?

Maybe the ski bus to Arc 1600 and then take the Funicular down to Bourg St Maurice (proper town).

Ps. I haven't checked the website - so apologies if listed.

 Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@turboblackbeard, some suggestions:

Take the navette to Arc1800 then the connection to the nordic ski area (check the timetabe as the nordic bus is infrequent) either take it to the end and walk along GR5 into the Vanoise national park via the Rousel gate or go the the Au Baudet Malin & Les Rennes du Grand Plan restaurant and explore the old lead mining area.

Though a walk from the Vallandry area to Notre Dame des Vernettes looks straightforward the beautiful chapel is closed during the winter.

Walk through the forest to the village of Courbaton via Plan Devin

A twin Parapont flight

I suspect the via ferrata at les Bettieres will be covered in ice so I do not reccomend it.

Sledging at Mile8

Swimming pool at mile8 and the bigger one in Bourg st Maurice. Use the funicular to go down to the town

I think it has moved so I'm not sure if it is still available, but there is alawys the cheese factory
