I quite enjoyed the last poll, so I thought I'd try another. How much ski-ing did you get done in the last season? For the purposes of this poll, ski-ing and snowboarding are the same

I managed 36 days, extending from the PSB to (half way through) the EoSB: 4off 6-day weeks + 3off 4-day w/ends, and didn't go at all over Xmas/new-year

lampbus, you're probably right - but I can't see a nice way of doing it... new categories will get added at the bottom.

49 days, although for two or three of those I had to stay in the apartment in front of my laptop trying to meet some deadlines in work.

Feel like a bit of a light weight only getting four weeks. This is all really my bank manager would allow .

I was in Serre Chevalier for a total of 32 days last season, and I skied for about 24 of them. The rest ws taken up with meeting builders, shopping for things for the apartment, and getting keys.

Hoppo, with respect to your poll, when does the season officially start and end (just thinking about my trips to the glacier)

37 plus a day washed out by weather, 1 by injury & another 6 cancelled through injury. I think this poll may be a bit biased - anyone insane enough to be posting on a ski forum as temps hit 30 C in mid-summer is likely to have at least a mild obsession.
Long way short of my best at about 130 days though as a healthy proportion of my days this year were powder days I'm not complaining.

23 days in total. Much better than last year's effort of 13 days.

Around 17 days or so.
Currently 44% managed more than 4 weeks - that's pretty impressive. I knew we were keen but didn't expect the numbers to be quite that high. Or possibly those of us reading and posting in June are likely to be those who go the most often?

Maybe we need a poll: How long is your typical ski-week?
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

rob@rar.org.uk, and maybe one on 'how long is your apres ski' as well. This could be measured in terms of hours or alcohol units.

Typical ski day? A hearty lunch on the mountains counts as ski time!! (As long as you ski to and from)...
I will confess to varying degrees of hard-coreness from our nearly-powder day at Alta (09h00-17h00 with one 30 minute break at 15h00 for lunch) to errr, skiing to lunch in torrential rain in Morzine, having a very fine gastro meal (11h30-15h30) and skiing home again. Too many variable to analyse (weather, snow, motivation, ski party, hangover, et al.)
Typical week is 9 days though (out Friday back Sunday).

Alastair, I think that that needs a scale, like "When did you take you ski boots off?".
Hardcore would respond in increasing order of severity:
"in the nightclub", "after the nightclub", "I didn't", "I haven't"...
