Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

As long as the binding aren't on a rail system you should be ok. The rule is when you're drilling you need 10mm away from the old screw holes. You need to look at the screw hole patterns against the current screw holes.
You may need to have the binding moved slightly off the recommended sole centre line to accommodate this.
Any decent ski shop will be able to do it for you or advise against it.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

thanks for the reply. I do not intend to to it by my selft. I have no idea how. If it was as snowboard ok...but mit ski ....
However Head write back that "it depends on whether the correct plate (Power Rail) is mounted on the Atomic model. The Protector binding needs this plate to be mounted.
We would ask you to clarify this with a specialist retailer and have the binding fitted and adjusted there as well"
*Free translation from Germans
I asked a couple of retailer...well... the answer "The Atomic bindings for the Cloud 7 are produced by Salomon, the Protector by Tyrolia. As these are two different manufacturers, the rail system is not optimally compatible. Of course, you may still be able to slide the Tyrolia binding onto the rail of the Atomic ski, but a perfect fit is not guaranteed."
Maybe it is possible, maybe not.... however 300 Euro for "maybe" is a big deal....

And what's your reason for wanting to do the swap? Are the old ones actually broken, and if so, and not repairable, why not just replace with the same type?

If the cloud 7s are on a rail system, lots were I think, then I wouldn't touch it - new ski time

The protector unfortunately will not fit on the atomic rail system. Potentially you could remove the rail and get the protector fitted but as others have said it's probably easier to buy new skis and for the protector to them !

@turms2, Think of something different to buy as a present.
I'm not sure the skiing world is convinced by their claims of a 50% reduction in knee injuries anyway, TBH.
