Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

We will be offering Niseko snow reports live from the resort throughout the winter. Niseko will open on December 3rd this year and we aim to get something to you before then!

In the meantime, check out the first snowfalls that appeared on Mount Youtei this month!

Second time to Japan for me and Mrs MA in Feb - but first time in winter and first time on Hokkaido. It's a two week trip from 4th Feb. Going with a guiding company who will take us to wherever the snow is best in the Kiroro and Sapporo areas. Can't wait Very Happy

Very nice - Sapporo Teine is an absolute banger in good conditions (https://www.fall-line.co.uk/sapporo-teine-japan-ski-resort/), and also near the city Kokusai (National) is one of my favourites too!

@mountainaddict, Nice! I second @wiigman, Teine and Kokusai are both great. There's quite a lot of good terrain accessible with a bit of skinning from the top of the ski lift at Kokusai (also great without touring too if there's fresh snow).

Will you be going to Sapporo Snow Festival too? As that's 4-11 Feb.

I'm planning to be in Japan sometime around mid-Jan to mid-Feb, first time in 3 years. Not sure on the plan but will probably be mostly around resorts close to Sapporo - Kiroro, Kokusai, Teine, maybe Asari and Rusutsu. Possibly Furano area too. Plus some ski touring too hopefully.

12 cm today sounds right! @mountainaddict, the figures on the gauge represent 10cm, with every black line representing 1cm.

Today also brings the exciting news that Grand Hirafu will open tomorrow Smile

With snow forecasted every day over the next week, the season is officially on!!!

i was wondering if anyone had any advice for a transfer from chitose airport to niseko. i have looked at the bus but there would be around a 90 min wait when i arrive. i contacted samurai snow but they only do transfers if you book accommodation with them. are there any other decent private transfer companies? thanks

OMFG ... arrive on Sunday snowHead

Edit ... Just arrived and getting through the airport is like a scene from an apocalyptic zombie movie, loads of checks and desks and bits of paper and people with masks and face screens on and declarations and more people waving bits of paper on your face and directions to another desk ... so glad I did all the online stuff before hand that have me my QR code and category B blue entry status snowHead

@rayscoops, if you're travelling from the UK, you will need to fly via Tokyo and it's well worth stopping to visit for a few days if you can.

8cm of snow was recorded at our snow station this morning. So far it's snowed every day in December, and snow is forecast every day for the next week. Great news for anyone heading out there soon!
