Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Zermatt - Klein Matterhorn

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi all!
We haven’t been back to Cervinia/Zermatt since the new lift was put in up to Klein Matterhorn. My question is has the narrow track down to Plateau Rosa from the top been improved at all? It always seemed a bit treacherous late in the day with one particular bottle neck that tended to get lumpy and busy.
When it was just one cable car, we used to wait until everyone had skied down before heading off so it was more manageable. A more regular gondola lift would seem to mean a steady stream of people with no gaps to wait for?

The new big 3S gondola is great - rock steady and comfortable. But you're right about there being no 'quiet gaps', and yes, the piste can get a bit cut up halfway down later in the day.

 Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@caughtanedge, cheers - hoped they’d find a way to widen/flatten it a bit.

Yes, we normally go over in the morning to Italy and the route is fine, but this year staying in Cervinia with other family and returning mid afternoon it was indeed a bit of a mess. Quite moguled and busy. It is now also the only way back with the T bar lifts going.

@twoodwar, had some fun on those t-bars. “If we’re going to get into a tangle, pray it’s on the second one.”

Sorry, by going I meant ‘no more’ to avoid confusion. Only th cable car to Klein Matterhorn will get you over to Italy, along with probable bumps on the pm.

Although from May 2023, the Alpine Crossing extension will be open, so you can take the lift directly to Testa Grigia should you wish
