Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Transfer Zurich-Zermatt late evening?

Got flights for January arriving in Zurich at 19:25 on Thu. Looked on the SBB site and the latest link from Zurich airport leaves for Zermatt at 20:15. Very tight. Really hoping that more trains will be scheduled (what's the chance of that?).
Taxis want 1000 CHF (one way), some "limo" services around 600 (any recommendations for a reliable one?)
Also thinking of getting the train to Visp and spending a night there or getting a taxi from there ( any recommendations? )

Train to Visp and get hotel by the station. Do the last leg up to Zermatt in the morning.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

After 17:00 at Zurich is never a great idea tbh. You won't make the 20:15 train and there won't be anything later.

Taxi Visp - Zermatt was about CHF150 on the one occasion I did it.

OK, so a night in Visp seems to be the solution. 150 CHF isn't too bad, I fear the problem might be with finding a taxi in the middle of the night

Here's a thought........ Change to an earlier flight. Or, stay in Zurich for the night. Why pell mell? Seriously.

Take train to Visp. Get taxi from Visp to Zermatt. There will not be ones at the station you can just hop into but pre-book with Taxi Christophe (there are others but they are the ones I use) and they'll be there waiting for you. Cost varies depending on the time ... but they operate 24/7. Alternatively get a hotel in Visp .... but, personally, I'd take the taxi option since the costs are about the same and then you aren't losing skiing time.
