Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Cimes Blanches, La Rosière

Hello all - first time poster.

I’m taking my family skiing for the first time - kids are total beginners and are 9 and
10. My fingers is hovering over the “book” button for les cimes blanches, but I’m hesitating as I keep reading that it’s ski in/out. This is obviously great but does that actually mean for the total beginners it’s a big trek in ski boots down a windy road and therefore it’s not ideal accom for those that haven’t skied before?

Also any views on ESF v Evo 2 would be welcome.

Stayed in Le Balcons which is part of the same complex many years ago (it wasn't finished) The ski in/out wasn't possible at the time due to snow levels. Ski in would have been easy but out would need a bit of a hike up I seem to remember thinking. On winding road to get to Eucherts, just 5min down the main road. La Ros' ski schools would need a bus ride up (or a long walk) but they're pretty frequent.

As I said it was a while ago so my memory could be fuzzy. Someone else might be along with more current info.

I didnt use them but La Ros' ESF used to have a good rep' unlike many others, partly/mainly due to the head being a Brit. Might have changed now he's gone.

Thanks adithorp! That’s really helpful. I think Evo 2 pick up from the accommodation on minibus and start the lesson in la rosière main, so maybe that would solve the walking problem (although not getting back to the apartment!) Although it sounds like it’s not too much of a walk down to the ESF meeting point in les eucherts anyway.

We stayed there a few years ago and really liked it. It was ski in ski out but would not work for total beginners if they were having lessons in the main resort which is where they seemed to take place. Getting to the center involved at least one lift and a ski down. It would be quite a walk in ski boots to the center.
