Poster: A snowHead

Looking to get a private transfer next winter for 10 people. Usually use Skiidy (who are great) but they want to charge Euro1200 as it would require 2 minibuses.
Any suggestions for a transfer company with slightly larger buses?

I think Jo at Taxi Morzine has bigger buses but she's not taking winter bookings til September (even if you offer her cheese).

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I think most companies use 9-seat vans (inc. driver). Don't know if that's a car park height or driving licence limit or they are just cheaper than the bigger ones.
What about pricing up 1x private minibus + 2x seats in a shared one?

@Mjit, Jo has a 14 seater and a trailer for luggage and skis if needed.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

9-seater license is orders of magnitude easier to obtain than bus license. Hence why everyone uses 9-seaters. There are, of course, a few companies who do have a driver or two qualified to drive bigger vehicles.

@Mike_H,
A cost effective 'Plan B' could be......
8 of you book a 'private' transfer and take all/most of the luggage in the 'private' transfer.
2 of you jump into a 'shared' transfer with little/no luggage ?
