Eurosport app was showing the race. I think the tennis coverage on Eurosport 1 has just finished and they have just switched to the skiing ( for racer number 14 ffs!)

@Alastair Pink, yup race won already and main skiers gone…usual Eurosport nonsense….opening commentator comment “welcome to those joining from Eurosport, you’ve likely missed the winner”….great, will hope better tomorrow.

They chopped the last few racers from the Slalom the other day too. Even the on-demand / recording had the same problem.
It's gone from bad to worse since DiscoveryPlus have taken over.
And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Today was an unexpected, pleasant surprise. It was warm and raining at village level last night. Woke to find maybe 5cm of snow on the deck. It was more like 15 - 20cm on the upper mountain. Best bit: it was quite dry powder.
Much hooting and hollering off piste! Being Av Risk #3, we stayed conservative. Many did not.
So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

One of the things I'm most interested in, and don't hear a lot about, are the factors that lead to the snow being particularly dry?
Enjoy@ulmerhutte

Great piste snow … bit of sun in am then clouded over and started snowing about 1.00 still snowing now. Windy at top.
Did first Schindler Chute … tricky entrance but lovely snow.
Of piste mixed … some nice pitches up high … new snow helping - about 5cm so far.
Should be excellent tomorrow if it keeps snowing and then sun comes out
@freeridechef, was great 2 weeks ago and has snowed plenty since, don’t read the tabloids.

Morning was lovely; filtered sunshine and few people. Snow was a little damp, but pleasant to ski. Around 1pm, it got foggy and humid. Sometime around 3pm, it started snowing.

I did however see a couple of guides arriving back to the village, suitably covered in snow so doesn't look to bad

Murrmel like everywhere last year was relatively quiet as subject to the early closing curfew in place (Closure at 10 IIRC) but can recommend it
Gunnar didn't play last year as there was a ban on live music too, an only piped music was allowed, not sure if he is back this year.
Gunar did play in the Murrmel last year, he started on Sat 5th March, the very first day the live music ban was lifted. Conveniently it was the same day we arrived in town.
The Moose also started up on the same day. The cheers when 'The final countdown' played at precisely 3:30pm as usual and DJ Gerhard walked on to the outside balcony were the most encouraging indicator of the covid restrictions finally coming to an end.

Great day … morning sunshine up Schindler in the 10cm fresh powder,
Weather closed in for a while at lunchtime but better towards end of day.
Plenty of nice off piste if you look.
So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

Random Question - I know I should probably start a new thread but folks here love to talk about taxis...
I'm travelling out to the Arlberg in a few weeks and need to get to Wald on a Sunday evening. My train gets in to Langen at 8pm which is after the last Post Bus. I know taxis park at Langen station duriong the day but do they also wait at the station in the evening? I've emailed Zurs taxis to try and prebook, they won't pick my up. I've emailed Lecher and they haven't replied.
Otherwise you'll just go on seeing the one name:

@Markymark29, yeah, that's a good shout. Just Googled and found "Peters Taxi" - anyone used them? I'll give them a call closer to the time.

@sah, If you dont get anywhere you could get off at Bludenz which is a much bigger station than Langen, I would guess there will be taxis waiting there is even a bus that leaves just after 20:30 https://www.lechzuers.com/en/local-bus
@munich_irish, yeah, it's an option. There's actually a bus from there to Wald, I just don't want to sit on the train then sit on a bus to come all the way back up the valley.
@DB, thanks, I'll make a note of that one too!
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

A day of 2 halves. It was freezing cold this morning (-9C) on the Galzig, brutal wind, and flat light.
Now, @2:30pn, the sun is out and the wind has dropped. The cold has really dried out the snow - a delight to ski, especially on Bachseite, but equally on the pistes.
It is unexpectedly busy this week. It has been suggested to me that people are coming here, rather than their “usual” places, because of the snow conditions (something I have known for 20 years! ). There are certainly more Italians and French here than usual.
@ulmerhutte, it was surprisingly difficult to sort a room for this weekend, usually no problem in January. I thought it was because of the ski racing but maybe folk realise the Arlberg has better snow than elsewhere ( though the Italian areas seem to have done OK)
