Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Chambery to Meribel transfer options

Hello, looking to start organising Jan 2023 trip and found flight to Chambery but I am struggling to find a shared bus service to Meribel village to keep price down (usually go Geneva to Avoriaz). Any recommendations?? Hate Chambery airport, but it is closer to resort and Jet2 flights are perfect times as is the price! Thanks

Hi did more internet/forum searches and Altibus for 4 of us might not be that cheaper than hiring a car or getting a taxi

steel1203,

Train to Moutiers (direct, 75 minutes) then Altibus from there could work.

It's currently €37 each way on the train, for up to 4 people on 1 ticket (ie less than €10 pp). We used that ticket (for 2 of us) last week. Altibus would then cost €11 pp each way.

Is there a train station at Chambery airport?

Oops! rolling eyes It's a 20 minute bus ride from the airport to Chambery Challes Les Eaux station... (or 10 minutes by taxi).

Chambery airport is unreliable because it doesn't take much in the way of bad weather/visibility for flights to be diverted. If possible, change to Geneva. If determined to go to Chambery, rent a car. Which, as you've discovered, might be a reasonable choice, with 4 people. I'd probably rent a car from Geneva too, personally, and it'd have winter tyres. But you need to think about parking at Meribel, and probably pay.

Is there now a bus linking the airport to the station? There never used to be which discouraged me from flying to Chambery.
