The Quicksilver lift at the base of Peak 9 in Breckenridge is equally horrend if you hit it at the wrong time! Avoided it last week .. hundreds queuing in both directions...

Absolutely @Yellow Snow, I'd so much prefer to share a lift queue with a reasonable and educated person like you.

We always find the lift queues in Canada much better managed than EU. They help funnel people in a pretty orderly fashion and make good use of singles lane. Helps the queue move generally quickly even if large at peak times/days

Not just Steamboat - happena at most large North American resorts when busy. Organised and polite

Problem is when the lines aren't marshalled. Amazig how many people don't understad alternate or can't count to 4 or 6.
