Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I'm going to try to go through Luton security on Saturday 5am for a 7am flight.
I've only ever done this in summer and it's normally a huge queue. Is it likely to be the same on April 2nd? If so then I'm tempted to pre book the fast track security for a fiver unless you tell me that the fast track queue is equally long?
Thanks

I've flown from Luton twice this season both 6:15am flights, I usually go for the earliest check-in time, around 4 -4-30am-ish. Security lines looked long but only took about 10-15 minutes two weeks ago, and also first weekend of Feb. Check-in was about 5 minutes queue, Luton and I guess a lot of airports do seem to be proactively managing queue time, So no great shakes.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

IMO this whole fast track security is a rip off. As more people use it, the people not using will be delayed more and more to the point of missing flights. Then it ends up as everyone using it as they pretty much have to, and voila another charge for flying that has been brought in by the back door.

It offends my principles too. The idea that you can deliver a service so bad that you then encourage your customers to pay more to make it acceptable.
Based on the feedback above I think I'll give it a miss then.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Went through Luton security (standard version) a week ago around 10am and it was very smooth and quick
