Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

How risky it is to plan a skiing trip to Les Arcs 1600 in early January? All pistes should be open by then? Tks

Not very risky at all. Les Arcs usually opens up in full around mid December.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I would say it is highly unlikely, but not impossible. If it was a very bad snow year, where it remained too warm for snow making, it might be a problem - but I think it rare enough not to feature in your thinking. There will always be skiing, due the Glacier.

@rbf15
, Very low risk, Until Covid hit we were in 1600 over Christmas for 15 years running and almost everything was open. The runs that are likely to be closed are the runs down to La Grange, but very few people do them anyway and it is largely a problem of no poles being put up rather than lack of snow.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Not all. It's actually rare that all pistes are open. But most will be open. In fact most (70%+) will be open from day 1 to the end of season.
