Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi I'm off to Sestriere in March and have been many times, my question though is for someone who has been recently, have they like most of the UK almost gone cashless, with contactless & apple/google pay?
Or do I still need to get a load of Euros to take with me, and use on the mountains and in bars?

Thanks in advance.

Just back from Cervinia and only 1 bar refused card/contactless payment for under 10 euros.
So contactless all the way - who spends less than 10 euros in a single transaction in a bar anyway? Razz

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Only 1 wouldn't take one for less than 10E on the PreBBWUW and Bash.
The one by the Fly wouldn't take a card for 30E 'because I hadn't told them' Puzzled

Kronplatz : one bar on the mountain (Huberalm) had a sign outside saying no cards, only cash. Everywhere else fine with contactless

Does anyone know if Cervinia shops, pubs and ticket office still accept cash? We usually exchange euro and take cash aboard. The locals usually welcome cash but thought I should check in case if things have changed.

I got back from Cervinia yesterday, and I don't remember seeing any signs for places not accepting cash.
