Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Car parking in Val d’Isere 19-20 Feb

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
We’re travelling to Val d’Isere this weekend, we normally catch the train but this time decided to drive however I forgot to book any car parking Embarassed I’ve managed to get some from Monday 21st but none of the public car parks have any spaces available online for the 19/20th weekend. Does anyone know if there are any alternative short stay car parks available as the ones online are all long stay or have a parking space they’re not using for those 2 days that I could rent? it would be from late on the Saturday until midnight on the Sunday or preferably Monday morning. Any help or other ideas gratefully received! Thanks

The short stay car parks should have availability from mid am on the Saturday as tourist leave… probably.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks Steve, whereabouts are the short stay car parks, I’ve been there loads of times before but never noticed them?

Very limited spaces there nowadays, so could be full during February. Could have an even longer ski back to Val D by parking at the big free car park at Tignes Les Brevieres.

I’m loving the skiing ideas! Not sure sure how well it would work at 10pm with kids though Laughing
@Steve Angus, do the long stay car parks have a separate short stay section then? Would I just drive in the same way?

After all it is free Go on u know u want to!

Currently all the Val d’Isere car parks have space, I have a view of the car park information board near the Funival from our apartment.
When the spaces become limited it advises how many are available in each car park.
Generally the only times it shows complet are Christmas/New Year and during the race weekends.
What car park are you booked into and I’ll check the board on Saturday.

Wow @muppet, you’re amazing! We’re booked into La Daille from Mon-Sat but the Parking du centre is closer for us but to be honest we’ll take anywhere! Thanks so much x

Yes you just drive in to them as normal - all spaces are 'equal' when inside so to speak

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

We were driving out of the Tarrentaise at the start of the school holidays and looking at the huge queue of traffic coming in. My wife asked the obvious question "where are they going to put all those cars?"

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

Thanks @muppet, we finally made it up the mountain and there were still plenty of spaces! No idea why we couldn’t book it in advance. Storm Eugene and half-term traffic all made for an interesting journey but we managed to make it here just in time to get out for some pizza (and wine!) thanks so much for your help.
