Having had a rather underwhelming week in Whistler (I think piste signage has probably been as bad as anywhere I've been, which is strange because I remembered it as being rather good ten years ago), have you got an underrated resort closer to Geneva as an option?
Still got two lots of easyJet flights there and will probably end up at Zermatt, Verbier, La Clusaz & Grand-Bornand or based out of Sallanches for my short trips, but always open to suggestions for places accessible via public transport or shuttle. |
If your staying in sallanches the portes de evasion is good, combloux, les contamines, st gervais and megeve all have bus links to sallanches and big variety of skiing |
That's exactly why I was planning on staying there again. Lovely cheap AirBnB near to supermarket and train station, but always open to other destination suggestions.

Sion & Sierre in Switzerland usually with post bus/train to approximately 10 different ski areas all along the valley.
Modane, valley Maurienne France for similar with probably 10 ski area too, among them is satellite access to 3V area as add on to Maurienne skiing.
Both of them next to significant rail station.

You cannot be serious ! Beer can never be overated. Tea merely fills in a 15 minute slot with some biscuits. A beer session provides a satisfying experience for hours at a time.
