Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Feisch Switzerland ski reviews and tips appreciated

Hi We're going to Feisch by car from the tunnel last two weeks of march. Would emergency snow chains or socks be ok rather than expensive 3PM+S tyres? It's only 1000m high?
Any tips about skiing area and lifts appreciated. Cheap mountain restaurants and hopefully a local pub. We realise it's going to be expensive but usually ski in trois vallees eg courchevel.
TIA
Peter

We went up to Feischeralp / Bettmeralp a few years back.
The skiing was relatively high altitude, accessed by a couple of cable cars and pretty good.
You can get from one end of the ski area to the other in a couple of hours, but there's quite a few nice runs in each sector, and plenty of lifts.
As we went quite late (end of April) the runs right down to the valley floor were closed, but there was enough to go at for a couple of days, and the views across the Jungfrau and the glacier are really great.
We stayed up on the shelf, where there's not a huge choice of bars and restaurants, but it was fine.
The western end has more piste-side bars and resto's, but there's a great little bar / resto right at the top by the observation point.
If you're staying on the valley floor then theres a much bigger choice and drinks are cheaper Smile
Some of the places right at the top did not take cards, so worth having a few chuffs in your pocket.
We went at the end of April, and the valley road was fine, it's a main route so its cleared regularly.
Unless your accommodation is not in the town you won't need your car in the week, so its only really the getting there and back you need to worry about.

I've been on a school ski trip to Feisch over the last 6 years (so, 4 years and the non skiing covid years) and the roads have always been completely clear in the valley in mid Feb. The run down to the village has been open 3 years, with some rock hopping at the bottom.

Feisch is VERY quiet. There's one nightclub (the Inch) and we've certainly met locals in the Talstation bar. I don't know if it will still be going, as they've removed the cable car and replaced it with a gondola that leaves from the new train station, so the actual talstation is no longer there (if that makes sense).
