Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Transiting the Netherlands

Has anyone done this recently? We're planning to go to Austria via the Netherlands in a few weeks. My understanding is that despite quarantine requirements, if you are transiting the country you are exempt from quarantine. Is this correct? I've read so many different things - and most refer to planes and airports, not trains and stations - that it's hard to be sure I've understood the requirements correctly. I was just wondering if anyone else has travelled via the Netherlands recently and can confirm?

There is an exemption to quarantine for transit by car, regs are hard to understand, but DFDS are helpful with questions.

@schifoan, we came in on Jan 5th. Hull - Rotterdam. Off the boat down to customs, passport stamped. Out of the dock onto the main road and across Netherlands in approx. 2hrs.
There is no frontier Nethlands/Germany, just a sign that said "Welcome"!!!
German autobahn was a delight to drive!
Have fun.

Thanks everyone, that's really helpful. Just realised that I failed to mention we're travelling by train not car! I hope that if people had no problems travelling by car though, we'll be OK on the train too.

We travelled via harwich to Holland 2 weeks ago and transited through without any problems. Had to fill out an online quarantine exempt form and also took a printed copy but no issues encountered as you can transit through NL.
