After what seems like endless cancellations and changes to travel plans since March 2020, can't quite believe we're on the eve of a ski holiday.
Testing done, passenger location forms completed, airline checked in, railway transfer tickets purchased. Switzerland here we come!
Really do appreciate being able to get away in these continuing strange times; feel really sorry for those whose plans were cancelled due to changing regulations etc.

Well, we did enjoy. A great week in Saas-Fee and definitely worth all the pre-trip angst and uncertainty. Very cold and after the first day, the resort was very, very quiet, no queues, uncrowded runs, some fresh snow and great conditions. Every business required covid passes (NHS QR code worked perfectly) and photo id and mask wearing was enforced and observed on public transport and lifts. The Swiss passenger locator form was inspected at Geneva airport and there were lengthy queues at passport control as a result. Geneva airport deserted at 5pm on the return day so no queues at all. Entry to the UK was simple as Mr Johnson removed the test requirement and Gatwick was positively ghost town! Really looking forward to Nendaz in March!

LOTA - great stuff. Great trip. We made it into France with four hours to spare - dash for Dover and across on the Friday evening.
You hit the weather window correctly. Our first week in CH, the one before Christmas; reasonable snow, some fresh on day 4, no people. Between Christmas and New Year, rain to 3000m, ice, choss, rocks coming through...grrr....and crowds. Left the slopes in that condition and headed back to England. then 30cms the next week....so you did well.

@valais2, yes, our instructor from the Zenit ski school was telling us about pouring rain at Morenia - at 2600 metres asl - that's almost unheard of! Things were back to normal by the time we arrived and it was very, very cold!

I enjoyed my first trip for two years so much that I've pulled the trigger on a third holiday - returning to Saas-Fee at Easter. Got a great deal on a BA flight using Avios and a modest but nice looking hotel that is close to the nursery slopes. Three trips in a season - fantastic!
