A plain old google isn't helping me but if anyone has any specific suggestions i'd appreciate it please. I'm going to Saalbach in 3 weeks and am curious.

The conditions in Saalbach right now are excellent. In 3 weeks is guessing game, but it is unlikely that it will become so hot that the snow will disappear. In fact the weather report this week looks changeable, so there may be some more snow and temperatures remain mostly under zero.
Bergfex or ZAMG are good websites for weather reporting.

Thank you very much. What do you look for in the reports that tells you if conditions are good or not? Like, I don't really have a sense of how good 85cm of snow on the mountain is.

@bobcat, look on the official website to see how many lifts and runs are open, and for live webcam shots.
Plus you'll get plenty of info from other snowHeads on here.

@bobcat, having had a blast around the Saalbach-Hinterglemm main valley (anti-clockwise) today, I can say that the piste conditions are generally excellent, and shortly to be refreshed by a very welcome dump later this week.

What you want in meteorological terms is a heavy duty cold front coming down from Russia, hitting a warm, water laden front (depression) progressing from the Atlantic across Europe eastwards. This then creates the massive dumps which we like. Meteox is the best site to watch the progressions across the Atlantic:

Meteox is invaluable for climbing and skiing.

Conditions on the Stubai glacier are excellent at the minute, pistes are holding up well pretty much all day (however the low number of people are obviously helping with that) and the forecast for snow over the next 3-4 days will be the cherry on the cake.
