Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Return to UK rules

Hi,
My family and I were planning a half-term trip to France. The kids are 16 and 14, are single jabbed and due their second jab next week........until they (and I) caught Covid this week. They now can't get second jab for 12 weeks.

As I understand it, this means that they are considered unvaccinated by UK Gov who do not consider "recovered" as a vaccine substitute. I'm then of the understanding that if we do decide to travel AND jump through the pre-return hoops of PCR test and day 2 and 8 tests at home, they must also quarantine for 10 days?

Given the UK's otherwise liberal stance to the virus compared with other countries, this rule seems somewhat harsh compared to other countries who see a single jab and recovered in the same light as two jabs.

Has anyone had to test this out yet?

Thanks in advance.

@cive, UK rules are that under 18s count as fully vaccinated regardless. No PCR, no quarantine.

 Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@cive, Welcome to Snowheads

The "Glossary" is not really the best place to ask your question : have a look in the 'Piste' sections* - there are several threads on travelling with teenagers

rumours are that the regulations will be removed when the Government reviews on the 26th of January

Note -- your biggest problem will be getting the children into France!
