Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

EasyJet Ski Luggage policy

We've flown to geneva twice in the last couple of months, including last week during half term. On the first flight it was very empty and there was no checking of hand luggage size. The few people on the flight had boot bags and helmets and some another bag all got on and off at both ends.
Last week the flight was full, and again we took our boots on as hand luggage, Mrs D aslo had a small handbag. Others on the plane also had boot bags and other bags and helmets attached to the outside. Again we weren't checked in Birmingham or Geneva. My default was to either pay at the airport or wear my boots onto the plane for a laugh.
One set of our friends managed to exceed the weight limit of their ski bag - no idea how and did have to pay extra for that.

@valais2,

How did you book baggage for one leg of your journey?

The Easyjet system only allows you to book baggage on each leg of return flights. The only way I can see to get around this is to make 2 separate bookings of one way flights.

Prior to covid, I did it a couple of times (to take stuff to our apartment that wasn't coming back) via a live online chat with easyjet. But not sure if that facility exists now...

I have done it a few times and had to do it at EasyJet desk at airport as you can’t do it online.
It’s the online cost plus £10

Semi related but are easyJet following their mask policy and how are they enforcing the FFP2 part?

@kitenski, 11 Feb Edinburgh to Milan FFP@ was strictly enforced

19 Feb Milan to Edinburgh - no enforcement and lots of selfish idiots wearing a chin nappy for the whole flight.

There is no need to pay the extra tenner.

I always telephone Easyjet to add a one way check-in bag on the outward leg, which costs 50% of the price of a 2-way check-in bag booked online.

@kitenski, We were wearing regular masks for boarding. Agent asked us if we had FFP2 and said she had some to give us if we didn't. We had some and said we would out them on before the aircraft, and she stressed that we MUST have them on before we got on the plane. Everyone on the flight had one on.

Not the case on the way back.

Snd Mrs Z flew Ryainair on the Monday, they could not have cared less.

You will need some FFP2 masks for Italy anyway so get some before you go and be ready to change to one if requested.

Flying with Easyjet - I have a hold bag booked.
If I can get everything in a ski bag that is within the 23kg weight and the 275cm(L+W+H) criteria for hold luggage, can I take my ski bag instead of a suitcase.?

Anyone have experience of this ?

Easyjet seem to contradict themselves on it!! Puzzled Puzzled Puzzled

 You know it makes sense.
You know it makes sense.
Probably a stupid question- but I’ve paid for what is described as “ski and boots” carriage. I assume that means stuffing the boots into the ski bag, but does anyone know if that can include a ski bag and a separate boot bag?
