Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Agreed, wtf is a ninja pass? I want one! Very Happy

THE HOLIDAY NINJA PASS
While fully vaccinated adults from the UK can freely enter hotels, restaurants and ski lifts just by showing their NHS Covid Pass, teenagers are now able to obtain a valid so-called “2-G” status as well even if they are not (yet) double-jabbed. Children under the age of 12 are exempt from the "2-G" rule.

The Holiday Ninja Pass works as follows:
• Teenagers from 12 and born on or after 1 September 2006 are eligible
• The Holiday Ninja Pass can be downloaded before travelling to Austria here
• Teenagers are required to take at least 2 PCR and one LFT test during a week-long period and record the results in the Holiday Ninja Pass
• PCR tests are valid for 72 hours, LFT for 48
• The PCR test required when entering Austria already counts as the first test

@another planet, good luck and enjoy your trip. I'd be grateful of your feedback as i'm doing similar early March. Admittedly and fingers crossed the rules and entry requirements may ease but having been lucky enough to get there for NY week but flying to Innsbruck i'd be interested to hear how you go on particularly checks and time of test and transit.

A bit of feedback from the coal face, I'm presently in Obergurgl. Arrived yesterday, went for a couple of beers late this afternoon to the Neiderhutte on the run back down to the village with four of our ski buddies To get in they were checking everyone for the booster and this had to be be backed up by photo ID in the form of either a driving license or passport. They are taking Covid seriously in Austria so be warned. They have Live Apres ski music but no one is allowed to dance or sing you have to remain seated at your tables and wear your mask when going going to the loo. Personally I don't have a problem with this just glad to be able to ski after an absence of nearly two years. My wife and I had our photo driving licenses to hand as was the case with our friends so we were allowed in. Why anybody would ski in a mountain environment without identification is beyond me, but people were being turfned away including a very gobby Brit with his partner.

Sounds awesome, we just have to accept the current situation and respect it to get away for a week of fun. On entry to Austria how do the police doing the checks on vaccine etc know where you are from? Irish don't need a PCR, do they ask you or take the flight you came off separate? Im flying into Innsbruck. An odd question but just wondering how they do this? Thanks

@Snowbandit56, sorry for coming back to this but I missed one point you made earlier in your coalface report - you said that everyone was being checked for the 'booster' when going into the bar? That sounds contrary to the 2G rule where it's just 'fully vaxxed' (1/2 doses depending on the vaccine) OR recovered that is good enough for hospitality etc. 2G is not the same requirement as for initial entry to the country where booster or vaxxed&recovered is needed.

I'm probably labouring the point a bit here, and @Cacciatore has mentioned to me elsewhere that the booster is something that is appreciated but not required. But if people are really being turned away from places because they have no booster (which I guess could only be possible if they are singling out Brits!) then one of our party is going to have problems - they are double vaxxed and recovered, but that recovery passes 180 days midway through our week there...

@ratechaser, 2G has a limit of 180 days for 2 x vaccinations or recovery + 1 vaccination. So it could be that someone is turned away because the green pass is no longer valid until a booster vaccination.

@Mankei, ah ok thanks, that then won't be a problem, as their second vax will only be a few days before travel!

I’m not 100% sure what the position is for Austria, but for most countries then vaccination is not valid until 7 days after you have it.

We’re trying to get our 12 year old their second vaccine 11 weeks after their first, because of this, but not had agreement to do that yet.

There's already been a lot of discussion on here about the fact that there's no minimum period after the booster to be let in, and people on the ground confirming it wasn't a problem. Equally I've not found anything in the regs to say that if you're entering on the basis of recovered+2 shots, that the second one has to have been 7/14/whatever days before travel. Hopefully that's correct!

Fingers crossed. Unfortunately I think, if challenged, the requirements are wide open to interpretation. Is a 2nd vaccine a booster or only a 3rd one? Is a minor under 12 or under 18…..understandable with everything done at haste but the inconsistency between guidance and legislation does add the worry factor. We’re keeping a couple of different options (countries!) open for now, for our trip, but hope clarity and learning from experiences will happen in the coming weeks.

@another planet,
Did you manage to make your trip, flying to Munich and travelling onwards to Austria? We are about to do the same and have encountered the same problem as you - We don't think we have to complete the digital entry registration for Germany, but then we can't meet the requirements of BA to check in. Any advice, based on your experiences please?

Travelling to splitboard festival in Austria tomorrow. Flying into Munich and train to Jenbach. According to RKI website digital entry registration form for Germany not needed for transit if not staying overnight. Vaccination proof uploaded to BA booking but they will not let us check in without German digital entry reg form - which requires German address. After advice on here last night have submitted form putting address as Munich Airport and have also uploaded to BA website but they are still not letting us check in. Booking does say we can travel but because form not submitted may not be allowed into Germany. Hoping they update their records soon. Have printed out digital entry form, vaccination proof, hotel reservation in Austria and have just had neg PCR tests back. Flying at 0855 tomorrow .... I hope! This is hard! You have to be pretty dedicated to get out/in!
