I heard a discussion about this on the radio this afternoon and felt rather sad about the amount of litter left on Ben Nevis. I don't climb high mountains in France, just potter round the foothills, but have always been impressed by the lack of litter. Do people leave lots of litter on Mont Blanc?

Check under any chairlift at the end of the season, as the snow melts. It's amazing/shocking the amount of stuff that appears!

Many resorts have "clean-up days", where they try and get as many people as possible to help clean up the chair lift mess.
