Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Freshtracks

Anyone else tempted to put their head above the parapet and admit to booking on a Freshtracks holiday this season? (for balance I’m booked on a Bash too) snowHead

I've booked several. Was too late to book a bash, but will be looking out for the buttons next year.

Haven't done one since 2006. Val d'Isere trip was poorly organised, poorly led and dangerous. Guides were supposed to be shared around the groups, but were commandeered by the top groups. Lower groups were led by resort instructors and the SCGB rep.

@jellylegs, thankfully things are a lot better theses days, some are still better than others. I’m off to Flaine with them over Christmas, then a Bash in March

@On the rocks, Flaine was probably my favourite Freshtracks. Yann Westercamp is a legend. Though the hotel they booked us into was a right dive.

@jellylegs, SCGB run a couple of nice catered chalets in Flaine these days.

I had a look at Freshtracks for this winter, but I couldn’t figure out why they were so much more expensive that other operators. They didn’t seem to be offering anything to justify the huge cost difference so I discounted them pretty quickly.
